Our 5th annual symposium, Soils: The Living Fabric of Health was a series of virtual events held every Friday and Saturday in October, 2020.

Hosted by NYC Urban Soils Institute, RUDN University & TreePeople, over fifty speakers from four continents spoke to the diversity, history and future of our global soils in conversation with hundreds of community members—soil scientists, artists, biologists, historians, geologists, writers, street tree stewards, social scientists, oil riggers, developers, landscape architects, foragers, farmers, investors, educators and engineers.

Each symposia launches a year of collaborations — field and lab research projects, films, site-specific installations, commercial ventures, journal articles, podcasts and happy hours.

Subscribe to our YouTube Channel to view all our 2020 presentations and visit our blog, Pedosphere, to join new conversations.
